EXCLUSIVE: Lifetime has a new “Ripped From the Headlines” movie in the works about the Idaho student murders, with Miles Merry (Untamed) cast as Bryan Kohberger, who confessed to killing four University of Idaho students in 2022.

From the team behind The Murdaugh Murders: The Movie, The Idaho Murders (working title) is based on the true story that took place on November 13, 2022, in Moscow, Idaho. Kohberger entered the off-campus housing residence where Madison Mogen, Kaylee Goncalves, Xana Kernodle and Ethan Chapin lived around 4 a.m. when they were sleeping and stabbed all four to death. A months-long investigation focused early on Kohberger, leading to his arrest on December 30, 2022.

Lifetime’s synopsis for the project is as follows: After four University of Idaho students are brutally murdered in their off-campus home, detectives race against time to identify the killer. The investigation eventually uncovers chilling clues that lead to Bryan Kohberger (Merry), a seemingly quiet criminology PhD student, as the only suspect.
