Deborah Vance is Team Conrad! Christopher Briney, one of the leads of Prime Video’s hugely popular YA series The Summer I Turned Pretty, has joined HBO Max’s Emmy-winning comedy Hacks for its upcoming fifth season, which is currently in production.

In addition to Emmy winner Smart, Briney joins fellow returning Hacks cast members, Emmy winner Hannah Einbinder, Emmy winner Paul W. Downs, Megan Stalter, Emmy nominee Carl Clemons-Hopkins, Mark Indelicato and Rose Abdoo.
This marks Briney’s first role since his starring turn as romantic lead Conrad Fisher on The Summer I Turned Pretty, based on Jenny Han’s bestselling books of the same name. The series, which also stars Lola Tung and Gavin Casalegno, recently came to a conclusion with a blockbuster third season, which broke viewership records.

Briney is set to reprise his role in the just announced The Summer I Turned Pretty follow-up movie, now in development. He previously starred in Paramount’s Mean Girls movie musical and made his film debut opposite Sir Ben Kingsley in Dalíland, which premiered at the 2022 Toronto Film Festival. Briney is repped by Industry Entertainment, CESD, Peikoff & Mahan, and Vision PR.
Season 5 of Hacks is created and showrun by Emmy winners Downs, Lucia Aniello, and Jen Statsky. The series is executive produced by Downs and Aniello via their Paulilu banner, Statsky via First Thought Productions, as well as Emmy winners Michael Schur via Fremulon, David Miner for 3 Arts Entertainment, Morgan Sackett, Joe Mande, Aisha Muharrar, Nate Young, and Ashley Glazier.
