‘Love, Brooklyn’ Director Rachael Holder Signs with ColorCreative for Management

Rachael Holder, whose feature directorial debut Love, Brooklyn is making a splash at the indie box office, has signed with ColorCreative for management.

Steven Soderbergh is EP for the film, which premiered in the 2025 Sundance U.S. Dramatic Competition and won the Audience Award at the 2025 BlackStar Festival, opened at the Angelkia in New York August 29 and expanded nationwide to about 100 screens this past weekend for a cume of $180k.  

From Greenwich Entertainment, the film stars André Holland (Moonlight, Exhibiting Forgiveness) as a writer navigating complicated relationships with his ex, an art gallery owner (Nicole Beharie, The Morning Show), and his current lover, a newly-single mother (DeWanda Wise, She’s Gotta Have It) with the support of his best friend (Roy Wood Jr., The Daily Show) in a modern romance set against the rapidly changing landscape of Brooklyn.

Holder created the Emmy-nominated digital series I Love Bekka & Lucy and directed the first block of the second season of Run The World for Starz, as well as episodes of the Apple TV+ series Dickinson. Her other episodic directing credits include Freeform’s Everything’s Gonna Be Okay, Love Is (OWN) and Florida Girls (Pop TV).

Holder holds a playwriting MFA from NYU Tisch and is a first-generation Guyanese American.

ColorCreative, the management and production company founded by Issa Rae in 2014 with Deniese Davis and Talitha Watkins and a mission of championing innovative and inclusive entertainment. Most recently, the company produced the Tristar pictures release One Of Them Days starring Keke Palmer and SZA which opened in January. It grossed $50+ million at the domestic box office and was a top movie on Netflix at it’s April streaming release.
