Apparently, it’s not always sunny in Philadelphia as tonight’s NFL season opener between the Eagles and Cowboys at Lincoln Financial Field was delayed.

During Thursday’s NFL Kickoff Game in Philly, the stands were evacuated amid a severe thunderstorm warning by the National Weather Service, potentially delaying the game by an hour or more, according to the NBC broadcast.

“A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued by the National Weather Service for our area. These storms may produce severe conditions, including lightning and strong winds,” NFL on Fox announced on social media. “For your safety, please exit the open seating area at this time and seek shelter along the concourses. Thank you for your cooperation.”

The game was suspended at around 10:25pm ET with the Eagles leading the Cowboys 24-20, with 4:44 remaining in the third quarter.

In the meantime, NBC’s broadcast team vamped and the Eagles Trayvon Diggs got hungry. Diggs exited the locker room and headed to a field-level suite, where fans offered him food.

The game resumed at 11:30 p.m., with the Eagles holding on to win 24-20.
