EXCLUSIVE: Pathway Pictures, overseen by Lauren Elizabeth Harris, has signed on to produce Family Tree, a new holiday-set dramedy created by William Shatner and Tom Bergeron.
Star Trek icon Shatner will be starring as Frank while game and talk show host Bergeron (Dancing With The Star) will portray Jeff, with both executive-producing alongside Nat Bernstein. The film was written by Katie Amanda Keane and Marla Sokoloff and is set to be directed by Sokoloff.
Family Tree centers on three estranged siblings who reunite at Christmas to sell their crumbling childhood home only to discover that fixing the house might be the key to repairing their fractured family.
Sokoloff is best known for her acting work in hit series The Practice and Fuller House.

“Family Tree is about the kind of healing that only happens when you’re stuck together with the people who know you best, and challenge you the most. It’s a story with grief, growth, and humor, wrapped in holiday warmth. Katie Amanda Keane and I have always wanted to collaborate on a holiday movie that is rooted in family reality with a touch of holiday magic, and I think we accomplished that with this script,” said Sokoloff.
Shatner said: “I am so pleased to be involved in this magical mysterious Christmas show that celebrates love!”
Family Tree is said to be in its final stages of pre-production, and is planning to begin production in 2026.
