Zandvliet, who wrote and directed the Academy Award-nominated Land of Mine, is the writer and director. Rikke Tørholm Kofoed (Prisoner) is producing for for DR Drama.

The plot follows what happens with 65-year-old Gorm, patriarch of the family farm Feldumgaard, shocks everyone by naming his youngest daughter, Astrid, as his successor, bypassing his eldest son, Erik. This tears the family apart, with Erik furious, second brother Thomas pushed by his wife, Hanna, to claim the farm for himself, and Astrid forced for fight to prove she belongs at the helm.

Harvest opens as a resentful nephew sabotages the grain, internal family rivalries deepen and Astrid rekindles with childhood love Jans as she attempts to modernize the farm. At the same time, a public confrontation at a Midsummer celebration and a scare involving two missing children force the family into the spotlight.

DR Sales, the commercial arm of DR, is planning to deliver the series internationally in Q4 of 2026. A festival release will come in the second quarter of next year.

Harvest is a powerful family saga weaving loyalty, ambition, and betrayal into a distinctly Danish setting,” says Pernille Munk Skydsgaard, Director of DR Sales. “It’s Succession with tractors and tradition – a story about power, inheritance, and survival where agriculture means ambition, money, and influence. We’re thrilled to bring it to the international market.”
