‘Gen V’ Season 2 Trailer Debuts At Comic-Con, Teasing Plenty Of ‘The Boys’ Cameos & Reveals Ethan Slater As Thomas Godolkin As Young Supes Return To School In Homelander’s America

Gen V is packing a punch with its second season, which was teased to attendees at the series’ Friday Comic-Con panel via the debut of the first full trailer.

Let’s just say, there’s a lot to unpack. Jaz Sinclair’s Marie begrudgingly agrees to return to Godolkin University — but only after Annie January (Erin Moriarty) tracks her down to insist upon it. That cameo reveal was met with loud cheers in the room, and little did the crowd know what was to come.

As we know, things are a bit different now that Homelander has taken over America and, naturally, the ripple effects have extended to the college campus, where Hamish Linklater’s Dean Cipher is doing things…a little differently. Per the Season 2 description, he’s got his sights set on a curriculum that promises to make students more powerful than ever. But, in Homelander’s America, odds are there’s an ulterior motive. The trailer makes it clear that Marie is going to get sucked right into that, and probably play a large part in stopping it, too.

“The shows talk to each other. So Season 4 of The Boys sets up Season 2 of Gen V. So now, Homelander has taken over America,” showrunner Michele Fazekas teased to the crowd. “Now, we get to see what that looks like — what that looks like the country, what that looks like at the school, and then what the resistance is going to start looking like.”

The trailer also includes a flash of the badge of Dr. Thomas Godolkin, the founder and namesake of the university, played by none other than Ethan Slater. The casting reveal indicates that there’s some lore on its origins (which seem pretty nefarious, to say the least) in store for Season 2.

Fazekas was on hand to tease even more about what to expect when the episodes land on Prime Video in September with Season 2 stars Jaz Sinclair, Derek Luh, Maddie Phillips, London Thor and Hamish Linklater.

The panel opened with a surprise greeting from a member of The Seven and Godolkin University alumnus, Chace Crawford’s The Deep, who returns as a guest star in Season 2 of Gen V. And, to bring it full circle, the panel closed with an exclusive, in-room sneak peek at The Boys Season 5, which we unpacked here.
