Prime Video Italy unveiled its upcoming 2025 slate in Rome on Thursday, in an event attended by a host of local stars such as Michela Andreozzi, Stefano Cipani, Christian De Sica and Diana Del Bufalo as well as best-selling writer Felicia Kingsley and U.S. filmmaker Jessica Yu.
Key additions included the NBA Finals which will be available exclusively on Prime Video in Italy from June 2026, as part of the first year of a landmark, 11-year global media rights agreement that begins in October 2025.
Marco Foroni, Business Lead Sports of Prime Video Italy, said fans in Italy would have access to 87 exclusive regular season games, including all seven games of the Emirates NBA Cup Knockout Round.
They will also have access to every game in the postseason NBA Play-In tournament, one third of first and second round games of the NBA Playoffs, a Conference Finals series each year playoff matches and the NBA Finals in 6 of the 11 years, starting from 2026.

Foroni also highlighted the fact that Prime Video Italy will continue to show the UEFA Champions League season until the 2026-27 season, with the best Wednesday night match, always featuring an Italian team when they are playing which next season will include Inter, Juventus, Napoli, and Atalanta.
He noted that 2024-25 UEFA Champions League season recorded an 18% increase in viewership compared to Prime Video’s inaugural 2021-22 season in Italy.
The platform also unveiled fresh images for upcoming show The Traitors Italia, which will be hosted by Alessia Marcuzzi, with participants including Andreozzi, Paola Barale, Filippo Bisciglia, Giancarlo Commare, Aurora Ramazzotti and Yoko Yamada among others.
The Italian version of the BAFTA and Emmy award-winning format, is produced by Fremantle Italia, in collaboration with the Trentino Film Commission, for Amazon MGM Studios and will be available exclusively on Prime Video in Italy, with six episodes in the fall.
The platform has also lined up a raft of mainstream Original movies including Ministry of Love, a romcom set against the world of Italian politics; Ancora più Sexy, the second feature in the franchise about the romantic adventures of a free-spirited woman played by Del Bufalo; Tuscany-set tale No Place To Be Single, based on Kingsley’s eponymous bestselling novel; and the YA romance Love Me, Love Me, adapted from the four-book series which has generated 22 million reads on the Wattpad platform.
It also unveiled new original series Italian Postcards, created by Lisa Riccardi and Damiano Bruè, and directed by Academy Award-winning director Jessica Yu (Quiz Lady, Fosse/Verdon, Only Murders in the Building, The Morning Show) about the adventures of young and spoiled New York heiress who is sent by her grandfather to Palermo, without money or luxuries, to work as a real estate agent in the family business.
Production will begin in the coming months on the drama co-produced by Amazon MGM Studios with Gaumont Italia and will be available exclusively on Prime Video worldwide.
