‘One Piece’ Finds Its Tony Tony Chopper In Mikaela Hoover; Netflix Confirms Season 2 Will Air In 2026

Two months after wrapping production, Netflix has finally revealed who is starring as the character of Tony Tony Chopper in the live-action version of One Piece.

Mikaela Hoover, who has featured in Guardians of the Galaxy and The Suicide Squad, will voice the character and will do the facial capture.

The news was announced at Netflix’s fan promotional event Tudum. The streamer also debuted the first look at the character, which will feature in season two, which will return in 2026. Watch above.

It comes two months after the streamer revealed Tony Tony Chopper, a popular character from the manga, would appear.

Hoover’s role was announced by the five original Straw Hat members, Iñaki Godoy, Mackenyu, Emily Rudd, Jacob Romero and Taz Skylar previewed the show’s second season, which is set to stream in 2026.

Hoover joins Joe Manganiello and Lera Abova, who join as Mr O and Miss All Day Sunday, respectively.

The live-action series, which is based on Eiichiro Oda’s best-selling manga, follows the otherworldly adventures of Monkey D. Luffy (Iñaki Godoy) and his pirate crew as they explore exotic islands and endless oceans in search of the ultimate treasure “One Piece” to become the next Pirate King.

Ilia Isorelýs Paulino, Jeff Ward and Michael Dorman will return as new villain Avida, Buggy and Pirate King Gold Roger, respectively. The cast also includes McKinley Belcher III, Morgan Davies, Aidan Scott, Vincent Regan, Craig Fairbrass, Langley Kirkwood, Celeste Loots, Alexander Maniatis, Chioma Umeala and Steven Ward. David Dastmalchian will play Mr. 3, Jazzara Jaslyn will play Miss Valentine, Camrus Johnson will play Mr. 5 and Daniel Lasker will play Mr. 9. The four characters come directly from Oda’s pirate adventure manga.

Callum Kerr has been cast as Smoker, Julia Rehwald as Tashigi, Rob Colletti as Wapol and Ty Keogh as Dalton, all characters straight from Eiichiro Oda,’s pirate adventure manga. Katey Sagal will portray Dr. Kureha and Mark Harelik will portray Dr. Hiriluk in Season 2. Sendhil Ramamurthy has been cast as Nefertiti Cobra. Charithra Chandran will portray Miss Wednesday.

Matt Owens and Joe Tracz served as co-showrunners, writers and exec producers on season two, but Owens left the show in March. It is produced by Tomorrow Studios and Netflix in partnership with Shueisha. Eiichiro Oda, Marty Adelstein and Becky Clements through Tomorrow Studios, Tetsu Fujimura, Chris Symes and Steven Maeda also exec produce.
