WBD’s Jori Arancio Joins TikTok As Head Of Global Consumer & B2B Communications

EXCLUSIVE: Warner Bros. Discovery communications executive Jori Arancio has left to join TikTok. She will lead Global Consumer & B2B Communications for the company behind the popular short video app.

She will report to Karen Hobson, head of Global Media Relations and Product Publicity. The two previously worked together at Disney for nearly 20 years alongside their boss, TikTok’s Chief Brand and Communications Officer Zenia Mucha.

Arancio joined then-WarnerMedia in 2020 to launch HBO Max and oversee TNT, TBS and truTV. She most recently was an SVP at WBD’s US Cable Network Group where she oversaw communications for multiple cable channels including Discovery, TNT, TBS, truTV, TCM and Adult Swim.

Prior to that Arancio worked for The Walt Disney Co. for 21 years, most recently as SVP of Communications for ABC Entertainment and ABC Studios.

The latest deadline for China-based ByteDance to divest the U.S. assets of TikTok is June 19 but President Donald Trump has indicated that he would extend it if a deal has not been reached.
