House of the Dragon star Milly Alcock questioned her acting abilities after she was told she was getting an acting coach.
Alcock played the younger version of Rhaenyra Targaryen in the HBO drama series and Game of Thrones prequel. While appearing on NBC’s The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon, Alcock recalled her encounter with the unnamed higher-up.
“On my second day on House of the Dragon, one of the — I’m not gonna say who, but someone very high up — pulled me aside and was like, ‘Um, we’re gonna get you an acting coach,’” Alcock said on the late-night show.
Fallon asked, “Did you just freak out and go, ‘Did you just say that?’”

Alcock didn’t go into detail with what she said, but jokingly said, “It just confirmed everything that I’ve kind of known to be true, [which] is that I’m not very good at my job. You know what I mean! I was like, ‘I can’t do this. This is terrible. This is a big mistake.’”
The late-night host noted that Alcock was “a fan favorite,” right “from the very first episode,” and looked at the camera directly and said, “Look at her! You’re totally wrong, buddy.”
Fallon also reminded Alcock that House of the Dragon won a Golden Globe at the 2023 ceremony for Best Drama Series, which the Australian star said, “I didn’t win it!”
The host added, “Yeah, you did. You won. Your show won.”
Alcock will soon be seen starring in Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, playing the lead role in the DC Studios film set to be released on June 26, 2026.
