Quickly after appearing on Saturday Night Live, Morgan Wallen was ready for the Lord’s day.

Following his musical guest appearance on this weekend’s episode of the NBC sketch comedy show, the 2x Grammy nominee abruptly exited Studio 8H during curtain call, while host Mikey Madison and the cast had the traditional post-show mingle onstage during the credits.

“Get me to God’s country,” wrote Wallen shortly after on his Instagram Story with a photo from a private airport landing strip.

Wallen’s unceremonious exit comes after a checkered history with Lorne Michaels’ long-running show, after his 2020 SNL debut was postponed when videos surfaced of him partying and ignoring CDC guidelines during the height of the COVID pandemic.

The I’m the Problem artist ultimately spoofed the moment a few weeks later on the show when he appeared with guest host Jason Bateman.

Wallen is gearing up to release his fourth studio album I’m the Problem on May 16, kicking off the accompanying tour on May 18 in Gulf Shores, Alabama.
