Watched: Bottle Rocket, 1996 – ★★★

A quirky, charming debut from Wes Anderson, but it didn’t fully hit the mark for me. The offbeat humor and low-key vibes are enjoyable, and the chemistry between Owen and Luke Wilson shines. However, the pacing feels uneven, and the story lacks the polish of Anderson’s later work. The film has a certain indie charm, with moments of wit and originality, but overall, it feels more like a warm-up than a standout. It’s a fun watch, just not quite a standout. I would still recommend this movie to anyone looking for a good indie movie.
