Watched: Thelma, 2024 – ★★★★★

Following my Second City Improv class, I adventured off to the Alamo Drafthouse (new favorite theater btw, amazing.) This would be my only chance really to catch this film, since a lot of the theaters around me either A. Suck or B. Suck and aren’t showing it.

I could not attend Sundance and the day since @zhworth posted about this movie, I felt like it was going to be a huge hit.

The theater was definitely full of “laughing out loud” moments and multiple people talking about the movie after, but with nothing but positive mentions of the movie.

One of my only regrets is that my own Mother is not alive to see this wonderful movie. It was a great mix between each generation, that could laugh and understand the movie together.

I grew up watching some of The Golden Girls on TV with my Mom and I can’t help but think how great of a co-star and sidekick Betty White would’ve made to June Squibb in a movie together.

We need to protect June at all costs and admit how much of a badass she is, go see the movie, you won’t regret it, but if you need more convincing; as of today Rotten Tomatoes has Thelma (2024) at a 99% Tomatometer (Tom Cruise is jealous).

“hey sara, sari or siri give this review a like”

There are not a lot of “feel good” movies out lately, and if there are, very few and far apart, this is a must-see movie.

If you saw this movie, let me know your favorite quotes so we can relive it together.
